CHANNEL PARTNERS CloudTC (Booth 4043) has unveiled the successor to its Glass 1000, Android-based desktop IP phone, which made its debut at the Fall 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo.

The company today took the wraps off the Glass 1100, which comes with new features and improvements. For example, the system RAM has been doubled to 512MB. There’s also a USB port now, which lets users attach a keyboard or memory stick, and Power over Ethernet so the phone will work with Ethernet cabling. Other upgrades include better acoustics.

“The Glass 1100 is an exciting achievement and technological advancement for both CloudTC and customers looking for a flexible, powerful, media-based phone,” said Anthony Gioeli, president of Silicon Valley-based CloudTC. “With improved system hardware for more flexibility, including new applications, the Glass 1100 will continue on the path that CloudTC began on creating an office phone that makes previous phone systems extinct.”

CloudTC said the Glass phones have an open API so partners such as VARs and integrators may create apps for their clients.
