Carolyn Ridley of tw telecom has been named president of the Competitive Carriers of the South, an industry organization representing competitive telecommunications providers in the Southeast.

Ridley is vice president of regulatory affairs for Littleton, Colo.-based tw telecom.

CompSouth also named EarthLink’s Jerry Watts vice president, Cbeyond’s Greg Darnell secretary and Level 3 Communications’ Greg Diamond treasurer.

In a press release, Ridley said CompSouth will be focused on the impact of a recently released Federal Communications Commission order  reforming intercarrier compensation and universal service subsidies  on consumers, its members and state regulatory proceedings.

“We look forward to participating in the public policy issues surrounding the debate to implement the FCC’s order in the coming year,” Ridley said.

Watts is EarthLink’s vice president of government and industry affairs. Darnell is director of LEC relations at Cbeyond while Diamond serves as regulatory counsel at Level 3.
