Streamcore Inc. (Booth 401) is introducing the StreamSense SP platform for service providers.

StreamSense provisions next-generation managed services for application performance and monitoring. It’s geared toward customers using IP applications such as VoIP and IP video conferencing, according to Streamcore.

StreamSense gives providers additional revenue streams because it supports application and network monitoring, as well as performance services, without needing probes at the customer edge, the company said.

Enterprises today demand application-based SLAs and network monitoring and with that, Streamcore wants to partner with providers to ensure they take advantage of the revenue opportunities the application and network management market presents via next-generation value-add services,” said Mel Melara, regional vice president of sales for Streamcore.

StreamSense SP does the following:

Real-time network and application monitoring Offers real-time visibility features to track network or application performance and troubleshoot any slowdowns or user complaints.

Application performance control Provides advanced QoS controls and automated application control features with alarms and thresholds to guarantee customer application performance.

Fine-grained and business-level reporting Tracks essential performance indicators such as response times, number of sessions, and traffic volume analysis per site, per application and per category.

Customizable Web portals Personalized customer dashboards offering self-configured PDF reporting on real-time performance statistics and troubleshooting tools to track and optimize application performance.

Streamcore said StreamSense SP can sit inside or outside MPLS or IP VPN networks but that it works particularly well when deployed at the service provider or customer data center. That way, it can report on all the downstream branches without the use of probes.

StreamSense SP also can be deployed at the customers edge if a CLEC already is providing managed router services. The platform does well, too, at the provider’s edge or PoP and it doesn’t impose on the ability to deploy probes at the customer premise, Streamcore said.

New StreamSense customers can be provisioned on the appliance in 15 minutes or less.
