CompTIA Elects New Chairman, Board Members

CompTIA has chosen a new chairman of its board of directors for the 2005-2006 period.

Gary Gillam, vice president of North American Resellers Channel Operations for Xerox North America, was elected the associations leader during the Breakaway 2005 Conference in Las Vegas.

Gillam succeeds Robert Sartor as chairman of the CompTIA board. Sartor, director of industry and customer programs for DHL Information Systems (Americas) Inc., will continue to serve as an ex-officio member of the board.

In his role at Xerox, Gillam is responsible for sales of printers and low to mid-range multifunction products through distributors as well as national resellers.

He maintains responsibility for inside sales organizations that support VARs, solutions providers and service contract sales.

Gillam held domestic and global senior sales positions at Tektronix and Microrim prior to joining Xerox. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in journalism.

Meanwhile, CompTIA members elected other board members as well. Wayne Mize was voted to become vice chairman of the CompTIA board. He serves as vice president of the solutions marketing division for Ricoh Corp. Todd Meister, president of Global Recruiters of Madison, will serve as CompTIA board treasurer for 2005-06. Alan Borck, president and CEO of ARC Communications was chosen board secretary.

Shoer, Jenaly Technology Group Inc.; and Brian Wiser, Ingram Micro.
