Cross Telecom Acquires ACT

Minnesota-based Cross Telecom, a provider of platforms for voice, data, IP telephony, wireless and other services, has acquired American Communication Technologies Inc. (ACT), headquartered in Florida.

ACT is a software developer and systems integrator that specializes in contact centers. Both Cross Telecom and ACT are Avaya BusinessPartners.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cross Telecom executives said the acquisition not only bolsters its product portfolio, it helps channel partners offer customized software applications to business customers. “Industry leaders are seeking solution providers that are willing to spend the time to learn about their true business needs and become their trusted adviser, said Bob Coughlin, Cross president and CEO

The combined company will keep the Cross Telecom name and maintain its headquarters in Bloomington, Minn. ACT employees will be retained and work from ACTs Orlando, Fla., office.
