Cypress Communications is adding the Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) and expanding its flagship C4 Product Suite. Cisco HCS will be integrated into the Cypress cloud and backbone infrastructure, marketed as C4 UC and delivered as an enterprise, hosted Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) solution.
Cypress will provide hosted UCaaS with capabilities that include: seamless call transfers from fixed to mobile phones, the use of presence technology, Web conferencing, desktop video and a mobile client that extends UCaaS functionality to Apple iOS and Android-based devices, including the Cisco Cius. C4 UC will be generally available next month.
With C4 UC, users can have the social mobility and flexible collaboration they want, while at the same time allowing the enterprise to ramp to full infrastructure in the cloud and all of the inherent benefits that the cloud brings cost savings, operational efficiency and business continuity,” said Frank Grillo, EVP of Applications, Implementation & Support at Cypress.
Customers with existing Cisco infrastructure are likely to benefit the most as they can continue to use their Cisco handsets and can even transfer the right to manage their Cisco Unified Communications Manager licenses to the hosted service or seamlessly integrate hosted and premises-based solutions into hybrid environments, thus utilizing the best of both worlds,” said Elka Popova, director, Unified Communications & Collaboration, Information & Communication Technologies, Frost & Sullivan.
Cypress will integrate the Cisco HCS into the companys cloud computing-based national infrastructure and offer an enterprise-level UCaaS solution. The newest product includes collaboration and mobility, which can be tailored and customized for Cypress customers. C4 UC will be deployed as a cloud service and includes virtual PBX functionality, email, IM and presence, file sharing, conferencing, desktop video, management controls, unified fixed and wireless clients, fixed mobile convergence, multimedia communications, enterprise-level social media and federation for extra-enterprise communications.
As a hosted solution, Cypress says C4 UC enables small- to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) to benefit from a premium unified communications experience without the hassles of owning and maintaining an in-house solution.
Atlanta-based Cypress merged with Dallas-based Broadvox earlier this year.
