Mobile UCC vendor Damaka has released a mobile software client that extends Polycom and Tandberg videoconferencing functionalities to tablets and smartphones.

Enterprise Mobile Video works with Android, iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry, Symbian and Windows Mobile devices to enable videoconferencing capabilities of Polycom and Tandberg systems to users outside the office or on the road. The client is downloaded onto the mobile device, which then interoperates with the point to point solution through the videoconferencing server.

The mobile client supports H.263 and H.264 video codecs, interoperability with VCS-E via SIP/TLS and media recording functionalities.

Damaka, which sells through the channel, is currently working with other third-party vendors to extend the functionality to other videoconferencing systems.

Todays workforce is increasingly required to join video conferences and collaborate with colleagues, customers and partners while on the go,” said Satish Gundabathula, Damaka CTO, in a release. Damaka Enterprise Mobile Video is designed to help businesses achieve higher corporate productivity by empowering the mobile workforce to stay visually connected.”

Enterprise Mobile Video is the latest in Damakas portfolio of mobile unified communications and collaboration solutions. The company also offers Amadeo, a UCC for smartphones, and Volga, providing live streaming video to and from any device on a network.
