Enunciate to Roll Out IP Conferencing, Webcasting; Announces New Customer

Enunciate Conferencing (Booth 424) announced at The Channel Partners Conference & Expo that it has selected Convedia Corp.s CMS-6000 Media Server and Spectels MeetingXchange IP conferencing application to build a broad portfolio of IP conferencing solutions. It also will begin offering Webcasting services.

The company is capping its investment in proprietary TDM bridges, to migrate to more cost-effective IP conferencing technologies.

Conferencing service providers are faced with a double-edged sword in the increasingly competitive market for collaborative communications, says Marc Beattie, senior analyst of Wainhouse Research. Rapidly growing demand is driving expansion of their conference bridge capacity, while at the same time market forces are putting pressure on them to reduce operating and infrastructure costs to improve bottom line performance.

The Spectel/Convedia conferencing solution is designed to provide attended, unattended, reservation-less and mobile conferencing services on a scalable, IP-optimized platform with Web conferencing, and recording and playback capabilities.

We looked closely at a broad range of IP Media Server companies and quickly concluded that Convedia has become the clear leader in IP media processing technology, says James Baskin, vice president of operations for Enunciate Conferencing. Convedias Media Servers will allow Enunciate to seamlessly scale with our subscribers continually growing demand for conferencing services.

Convedias CMS-6000 Media Server provides media processing features for next-generation conferencing applications including n-way audio bridging, loudest n mixing, codec transcoding, automatic gain control, current speaker notification and recording and playback capabilities. Spectels conferencing applications control Convedias CMS-6000 media servers using open-standard SIP and XML interfaces.

Enunciate has also announced that it will resell Streamlogics Inc.s Webcasting applications and services, branded as Engage Web Streaming. Enunciate will participate in Streamlogics StreamPartner program, a training and support system for channel partners in the Webcasting industry. The conferencing company also announced IPGroup as a customer.
