Excelergy Announces Legacy OSS Extension Program
May 7, 2004
By Tara Seals
Excelergy Corp. rolled out the Legacy OSS Extension Program at Billing and OSS World 2004. Service providers can add new functionality to existing OSS and billing systems by implementing components linked by WDSL and XML services, reducing or deferring new OSS capital expenditures.
Capabilities include: creation of a consolidated management view across multiple products, services and plans; integration of disparate systems from mergers and acquisitions; consolidation of multiple billing systems; service order management; dispute reconciliation; automated mediation; and service fee implementation. Service providers can use one, some or all of the capabilities, to upgrade as needed rather than replace existing systems all at once.
Replacing an OSS system can be a risky, expensive and time-intensive undertaking, says Richard Dwyer, Excelergys managing director of business development. The Excelergy OSS Legacy Extension Program allows communications providers to quickly, easily and cost-effectively increase the flexibility and functionality of their existing systems, giving them the agility they need to succeed in todays restructuring telecom/broadband market.
