FeatureTel Deploys Tekelec 6000 VoIP Application Server

Facilities-based carrier FeatureTel LLC is delivering managed VoIP services to businesses in the southeastern United States with the help of Tekelecs 6000 VoIP Application Server. The product enables hosted PBX services.

The Tekelec 6000 is a standards-based VoIP platform and session border controller that works with a range of network equipment and protocols; it also can scale to support hundreds of thousands of users in a distributed network, according to Tekelec. With the server, operators can deploy services such as softphones with multimedia capabilities, conferencing, find-me, and unified messaging and voice mail capabilities. Tekelec built the server with IP multimedia service control interface and SIP profiling capabilities to support IMS networks.
