Hostopia Releases WebMail 4.0
October 24, 2005
Hostopia (Booth 125), a provider of private-label wholesale hosting, e-mail and applications, has launched WebMail 4.0, which the company says is a significant evolution from its three earlier WebMail interfaces: Classic, Professional and Advanced.
Hostopias research via its 350-member, private-label partner network of service providers determined that users desire a Webmail interface that was fast and intuitive. Features demanded include an online calendar, task lists, advanced contact management, easy-to-set preferences and configurable spam/virus protection. Hostopia says it built on the success of its earlier WebMail interfaces to pack WebMail 4.0 with new features and functions.
When 1.8 million users speak, you listen, says Franc Nemanic, president of Hostopia. Most Web-based e-mail typically lacks the power features of a robust business class offering, or they provide graphical richness at the expense of performance, since they operate without client software. Hostopias WebMail 4.0 delivers blistering speed, massive storage allocations and a slick interface jammed with useful user features, asserts Nemanic.
WebMail 4.0 provides advanced e-mail folder management; intuitive calendaring and task management; improved contact management functionality (including group and list management); the ability to view quarantined (spam) mail; and multilanguage support and spell checker all powered by a new mail architecture that greatly enhances overall performance, speed and reliability. Users can also setup and manage autoresponders and e-mail forwarding settings, change their passwords, and edit their filtering and mail setup preferences from within WebMail 4.0, functions that were previously available through a separate Hostopia application.
Hostopia offers WebMail 4.0 as a standard, included feature bundled with its private-label wholesale hosting plans, sold by service providers under their own brands, worldwide. WebMail 4.0 also is included in each of Hostopias three private-label, managed e-mail offerings: Business Class Email, SOHO and ISP (nondomain-based) e-mail.
