Tech distribution giant Ingram Micro has introduced a larger unified communications and collaboration (UCC) portfolio, a new hire to lead UCC efforts in North America, expanded its vertical market capabilities and announced a relationship with IBM’s SoftLayer.

And those are just a few of the announcements coming out of its ONE event in Las Vegas this week.

The expanded portfolio will include both UCC solutions and professional services. Ingram Micro also appointed Bob Gutschenritter as director of UCC for Ingram Micro North America. Most recently, he was a sales leader at Windstream and has also held a sales position at Alcatel-Lucent.

Led by Gutschenritter and supported by a team of UCC market specialists, sales experts and technology solutions engineers, Ingram Micro says it is helping channel partners advocate and advance the adoption of UCC solutions throughout North America’s small and midsize enterprises (SMEs).

Ingram also has expanded its vertical markets to include retail and finance. In addition, the distributor said it has an agreement to offer IBM SoftLayer cloud services to mutual channel partners in the U.S.

“Ingram Micro is continuing to build out its UCC portfolio, leadership team and partner enablement resources,” says Jay Miley, vice president and general manager, advanced technology division, Ingram Micro U.S.
