Integra Telecom Intros Backup Service Using Verizon Wireless

Integra Telecom Inc. channel partners now may sell more business continuity and disaster recovery options to enterprises.

The CLEC on Wednesday introduced VPN Wireless Backup, which protects against network disruptions. The service works with wireline technologies, including T1, bonded copper and fiber. It uses CPE to switch traffic from the wireline network to Verizon Wireless in case of a network problem.

Integra said ideal customers include retailers, multilocation organizations and health-care facilities. The VPN Wireless Backup is encrypted with IPsec, works with Integra’s cloud firewall and lets customers prioritize network traffic.
