Joining forces to combat larger rivals, VoIP software provider IPSmarx and endpoint maker snom have created a partnership that will offer an integrated advanced telephony system comprising IPSmarxs platform and snom SIP-based deskphones. Developer of a multi-tenant IP-PBX, IPSmarx said it has joined snoms Advanced Technology Partner program.
The two companies can thus offer one of the few fully SIP-based integrated unified communications systems, from underlying software to the devices themselves. Operator customers of IPSmarx will be able to bundle the snom line of phones with IPSmarxs IP-PBX, offering call routing, e-commerce features, integrated billing and other built-in capabilities. Specifically targeted at small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), the system will also work for large global enterprises, the companies claimed.
Calling the the combination of snom and IPsmarx an affordable and interoperable end-to-end telephony system, IPsmarx CEO Arash Vahidnia said in a statement that it provides a very attractive unified communications solution to both SMBs and enterprise customers looking for an advanced telephony system.
While many vendors now offer VoIP applications platforms or IP phones, IPSmarx and snom are now among the few who can offer an integrated soup-to-nuts unified communications solution an attractive and cost-efficient alternative to traditional Big Iron telephony system offered by conventional vendors.
Known for its sleek, relatively low-cost desktop models, snom has embarked on an aggressive series of product launches over the last year, and is actively targeting new reseller partners. At the Channel Partners Conference and Expo in Las Vegas in March, the Berlin-based company displayed new lines for both the small and medium-sized business market and for larger enterprises. The new products included the snom 870 touchscreen device, for desktops, as well as a unified communications line, the OCS, and the MeetingPoint IP conference phone. The 870 is the latest in snoms 8 series of fourth-generation SIP phones.
