Jabber, Eyeball Networks Deliver Presence-Enabled VoIP Platform Based on SIP, XMPP
September 13, 2006
Jabber Inc. and Eyeball Networks recently announced a strategic partnership to deliver a turnkey solution for presence-enabling client-server IP telephony based on SIP and extensible messaging and presence protocol (XMPP).
By combining the Jabber Extensible Communications Platform (Jabber XCP) with Eyeballs Messenger, Messenger Software Development Kit (SDK), SIP Application Server, and Any-Firewall Server products, VoIP service providers and application developers can integrate Jabber XCPs core presence capabilities with calling applications and services that require guaranteed call completion and optimized voice and video quality. Integral to these efforts is Jingle, a set of standardized extensions to XMPP that allows SIP clients and devices, XMPP clients and devices, and traditional telephony devices to communicate with one another via voice and other available modes.
Eyeballs Messenger and Messenger SDK products can traverse firewalls, proxies and network address translations, and are coupled with the patented AnyBandwidth technology. Each client is SIP- and XMPP-compliant, fully customizable, interoperable with public and private IM networks and built with peer-to-peer media delivery.
