Level 3 Communications Inc. has made some significant additions to its Solution Provider Partner Program for Microsoft VARs.

First, Level 3 now offers Lync customers a trial period when they use its SIP Voice Complete service. Users must already have direct Internet access or a VPN and adhere to certain configurations. They also must provide their own headsets, USB phones and other equipment.

Next, Level 3 said it will expand coverage of its nomadic, e911 for Lync by 500 locations this year. This will connect Lync users to more than 6,000 PSAPs. And finally, Level 3 is adding support for Lync audio conferencing to its support for toll-free, local PSTN connectivity and 911 calling.

Throughout all of that activity, Level 3 said it continues to increase its to-to-market and partner co-marketing support for Microsoft VARs. So far, the company works with more than 20 Microsoft VARs.
