Lightyear Network Solutions (Booths 220-222) is launching a new suite of voice over IP and broadband products called XSTREAM designed for residential and business customers.

The product line supports VoIP, DSL, local PRI, dynamic T1, IP Centrex and hosted PBX, the company says.

Lightyears authorized agent channel will sell the XSTREAM business products, while the company will draw on its Lightyear Alliance sales channel of independent authorized representatives to sell VoIP services and DSL to residential customers.

Lightyear has partnered with Covad Communications Group Inc., Level 3 Communications Inc. and Sylantro Systems Corp. to support the new services. Lightyear is using Covads broadband network to deliver DSL under the XSTREAM brand name. Sylanto is providing Lightyear a software platform for advanced IP Centrex and hosted communications services and was selected by Lightyear to provide the softswitch component of the XSTREAM products. Lightyear has tapped Level 3 as its primary Internet backbone provider.

Lightyear also has partnered with Cisco Systems Inc., Sun Microsystems Inc., Signal Holdings and IPeria Inc to support other aspects of the XSTREAM network.

Lightyear is hosting a sales seminar Sept. 1 at the Chicago Hilton to feature the new product line.
