There’s a new wireless plan from AT&T that promises to cut the cost of calling friends and family in Mexico.

It’s called the AT&T Viva Mexico plan. It gets rid of long-distance charges on U.S.-to-Mexico wireless calls. If you sign up for the plan at $54.99 per month, you get 1,000 minutes to use both in the U.S. and Mexico – and minutes do rollover. But keep in mind, the plan just covers voice. Texting, sending pictures, etc. will still cost you the international rate.

AT&T says more Americans use their wireless phones to call Mexico than any other foreign country.
