JDS Invests in Oracle and Rockwell
JD Services Inc.
(www.jds-inc.com), a provider of telecommunications products and services, has teamed with Oracle Technology Network and Rockwell Electronic to implement a multimillion dollar upgrade for the database system and customer service software.
The deal helps JDS meet its goal to print a million prepaid phone cards a day.
Oracle is an integrated family of data warehousing that provides manageability, usability, performance, financial and analytic power. The Rockwell system will improve the quality of customer service, increasing JDS’ response time and problem-solving ability.
With the new system, JDS can route specific problem calls to specially trained customer service representatives.
In other JDS news, the company has added a new calling card series to its product line. The new Global Card Series features the JDS Global, JDS Global 2 and JDS Global 3 cards.
JDS Global features a domestic long-distance rate of 5.9 cents per minute, and has rates that range from 13.3 cents to 27 cents per minute on long-distance calls to Australia, Canada, Israel and five other European countries.
The JDS Global 2 features a low rate of 6.9 cents per minute to Mexico City, with rates ranging from 8.3 cents to 80 cents per minute on long-distance calls to Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and five other South and Central American countries.
The JDS Global 3 card caters to the Asian market, and features the low rate of 6.9 cents per minute to the Philippines, with rates ranging from a low 16.6 cents to 57.1 cents per minute on long-distance calls to Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand and five other Asian countries.
