MCI Unveils Carrier IP Termination

MCI Inc. today announced Carrier IP Termination, which uses SIP, as the newest addition to its wholesale VoIP offerings.

Carrier IP Termination helps wholesale customers save money when terminating IP-originated calls to the PSTN. The product is available on a limited basis through 2005, but will be widely available during the first quarter of 2006.

MCIs Wholesale Services division also offers SIP Gateway Services, available in three service configurations: inbound complete, two-way local and two-way complete. Each of the configurations means MCI provides the media gateway to the PSTN, local number portability, E911 (for outbound configurations), directory listings and Web-based order submission.
