The hosted VoIP consolidation wave has apparently begun: Momentum, a private-label VoIP operator, has announced the acquisition of fellow hosted VoIP provider vCentrix.

vCentrix is a strategic addition to Momentum’s hosted services business. The acquisition extends Momentum’s engineering capabilities and capacity – enhancing the delivery of several complex voice products, including residential and multiple business class services. The vCentrix acquisition also increases the company’s existing client base to more than 120 operator partners and boosts Momentum’s existing line count to more than 60,000 subscribers.

“We were impressed with Momentum’s flexibility, multiple equipment interoperability, broad industry knowledge and positive reputation,” said Talal Ali Ahmad, CEO of vCentrix, who will take on a strategic role with Momentum. “Together, Momentum and vCentrix will be a powerful combination in delivering digital voice with enhanced voice features and we will ensure our customers continue to receive superior, uninterrupted service throughout the duration of the six month transition period.”
