Motorola Launches RSGu3502
March 27, 2007
Motorola Inc. has commercially launched its residential seamless mobility gateway the Motorola RSGu3502 supporting unlicensed mobile access (UMA) technology, the company said at CTIA Wireless 2007.
The product has been selected for deployment by Danish mobile operator TeliaSonera, and is a UMA-enabled gateway for fixed-mobile voice convergence services.
The service will offer better coverage and higher capacity in the home where WLAN access is present, Motorola said. Users will be able to move in and out of the home with a single device, number, contacts book, voice mail and bill.
The Motorola RSG Series gateways support both voice and data communication and provide call transitions between mobile and home Wi-Fi networks. The RSGu3502 is equipped with two RJ-11 analog phone ports, which enable mobile operators to deliver dial tone to the fixed line in the subscribers home over the broadband access network.
The RSG Series also comes equipped with a full-featured, four-port router and integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi radio. It also offers advanced packet routing and prioritization for VoIP services.
