Netopia Inc. today rolled out the second version of its turnkey hotspot products and software, packaged specifically for resellers and managed service providers to market to small retail stores, franchises and chains, quick serve restaurants, cafes, doctors offices, Laundromats and more.


VARs can rebrand the service with their own information, their customers or both. Solutions providers can buy Netopias Hot Spot 2.0 through Netopias channel partners, including EMJ, Ingram Micro and Tech Data


Hot Spot 2.0 includes Netopia’s 3-D Reach Wi-Fi gateway, which governs who gets on the Netopia hotspot; venue marketing materials; and Netopia’s Family Friendly Surfing which filters inappropriate Web content. Netopias Hot Spot 2.0 has 802.11g Wi-Fi support to the 3-D Reach Wi-Fi gateway, as well as Web site hosting and customization options.


Netopia also is offering flexible billing options that give venue owners the ability to charge for Wi-Fi Internet access, offer the service free as a purchase award or promotional tool, or as a combination of the two.


For a limited time, Netopia also is offering VARs who join the “Powered by Netopia” program a Not for Resale Hot Spot 2.0 Starter Kit, as well as 90 days of hosted Netopia Hot Spot Service for a special price.
