Interconnect Shared Technologies Inc. acquired two subsidiaries of United Asset Coverage Inc. that provide on-site maintenance support to 70 U.S. enterprise customers with more than 1,100 offices. As a result, 150 techs will join the company. Transaction terms were not announced.

EarthLink Inc. expanded and renamed its SMB unit to incorporate capabilities from its subsidiary New Edge Networks Inc. The new unit, EarthLink Business Solutions, also will expand its channel initiatives with changes to its VAR program, and the addition of referral and agent programs.

Malsha Products, a distributor of mobile phones and accessories, has become a master agent for VoIP provider Vox Communications Corp. Ron Malhotra, president of Malsha Products, says the distributor will help its dealers more than 2,000 cell phone stores increase revenue through the sale of VoIP services.

1-800-GeeksOnTime has chosen CommPartners to provide wholesale VoIP and IP applications services as part of 1-800- GeeksOnTimes managed voice service, which includes help desk, digital voice and video IP communications, IT managed network services and centralized online backup. The company also will provide VoIP pre-deployment testing, site surveys and installations, and conduct around-the-clock, LANspecific VoIP traffic monitoring.
