Briefs

GuardianCam Inc. has launched an agent program to help roll out an Internet viewing product created to monitor childcare centers. The viewing system, purchased by daycare providers, allows parents to view their enrolled children on demand, throughout the day, via the web. For parents, it gives peace of mind about a child’s safety. For owners of childcare facilities, GuardianCam is an attractive feature for potential parent clients. The company says it can demonstrate increased enrollment and returns on investment of less than a month in many instances. It also acts as a check on any untoward behavior by daycare employees.

The company is seeking agents, master agents or affinity partners, who can earn commissions up front and on a residual basis. The company says estimated first-year agent earnings would total $75,000, leaping to a potential $125,000 or more after that. Qualified agents are expected to build and maintain prospect databases, must visit at least 10 percent of their prospects per month, must achieve an average closure rate of two childcare centers per month.

The product is a vertical market application that leads to additional sales opportunities: Childcare centers that purchase the Internet viewing system also must have a T1 line or high-capacity DSL connection.

Corp., which rolled out a channel program earlier this year, has signed master agencies
World Telecom Group and U S Telebrokers Inc. as partners. Internap offers route management technology and service guarantees for Internet backbone traffic. With a single connection from a customer’s network to one of Internap’s service points, the managed IP service intelligently routes the data across various networks, bypassing congestion points on the Internet, and avoiding packet loss and latency.

Telekenex, a San Francisco-based connectivity solution provider, has announced a product portfolio expansion. It also aggressively is recruiting new agents into the program.

In the past, Telekenex has focused primarily local and long distance and had a small indirect channel with only a few agents.

The updated plan includes the introduction of new data, storage and managed service offerings. Storage is one area with large potential, says Ron Lamb, vice president of sales and marketing for Telekenex. The company expected to have managed storage services available by the end of March.

Other Telekenex offerings include traditional voice and data services, other managed services, colocation, and video and audio conferencing. Lamb says the company also is eyeing the services for a few next-generation IP service providers.
