Performance Technologies Ships New STP
October 26, 2005
Performance Technologies Inc. (Booth 1459), a developer of integrated platforms, components and software solutions, has announced it has begun shipping its latest signaling gateway, the SEGway 6300 Compact-Signal Transfer Point (STP), to telecom providers throughout the United States and Mexico.
The carrier-grade, redundant system is designed to bridge SS7 networks by supporting IP-based and circuit-switched SS7 signaling. The 6300 can scale up to 96 SS7 links and 32 M2PA links. It is targeted to small to medium carriers who are looking to minimize leasing costs and port charges without a significant capital investment.
We are seeing many carriers and service providers investing in flexible solutions that preserve the investment in their legacy network while offering them the growth and new service opportunities of a VoIP network, says Deb Brunner-Walker, product manager for Performance Technologies. Our SEGway STP solutions are leading the industry by offering a competitive alternative to competitors scaled-down STPs, at a fraction of the price.
The Compact-STP supports a full range of hardware configurations and options for seamless scalability.
Software options such as M3UA/SUA support softswitch connectivity and global title translation allow carriers to offer toll-free calling, local number portability and other services.
