PowerNet Global Goes Nationwide
PowerNet Global Communications will build an 11-city IP-based voice network to deliver national long distance.
PowerNet Global says the move to facilities will enhance its long-distance reseller business in key markets.
The company has selected Veraz’s ControlSwitch, an open softswitch platform, and 50,000 ports of Veraz’s I-Gate 4000 media gateways, to connect the new VoIP network to the traditional PSTN and to peer with carrier networks at key locations throughout the country.
“As we increased our service offerings to our customer base, our network needs were growing, too,” explains Bernie Stevens, CEO at PowerNet Global. “We required a field-proven, next-generation network solution to provide emerging services to our existing base and attract new customers, a combination only Veraz could offer.”
PowerNet Global says it required a flexible and open solution that could support existing and next-generation protocols, such as MGCP, SS7, PRI, CAS, H.323 and SIP.
“PowerNet is familiar with our capabilities to rapidly deploy new voice networks, and we are thrilled they selected Veraz to help support the ongoing needs of their growing base,” says Tal Simchony, CEO at Veraz. “We are helping our customers deploy new voice networks at a rapid pace to fit their growing and future needs, and recognizing their concerns and demands to be a competitive player in the expanding and profitable VoIP market.”
