NORTEL NETWORKS DEBUTS INTERNET ACCESS SOLUTION

Nortel Networks has introduced Shasta
5000 Broadband Service Node (BSN), a usage-based Internet Access solution that
enables service providers to offer prepaid Internet access, giving residential
and business customers a choice between unlimited access at a fixed price and
flexibly priced access based on time and bandwidth used. It also allows those
customers to choose their own service levels in real time.

Using Shasta 5000 BSN and a customizable personal content portal
based on Shasta NetRIO Service Management Center, subscribers are able to choose
their own access bandwidth, view daily updates of service use and control
Internet access in real time. Through IP traffic shaping and policing, service providers can
guarantee the subscribers selected Internet access bandwidth on a persession
basis. The solution also offers service providers a portal platform from which
additional, on-demand services like firewalls, VPN access and content management
can be launched.

Shasta 5000 BSN supports wholesale dial, DSL, fixed and mobile
wireless, metro optical and Ethernet extension, ATM, frame relay and leased-line

GRYPHON NETWORKS INTRODUCES EXEMPTION
ADVISOR

Gryphon
Networks Corp., a provider of automated Do Not Call (DNC) and outbound call
management services, has announced the addition of Exemption Advisor to its
compliance suite of outbound calling technologies.

Gryphons Exemption Advisor automatically identifies dialed
numbers that qualify as an exemption under state and federal DNC rules, ensuring
only lawful calls are placed to numbers otherwise restricted by their presence
on state or federal DNC lists.

Gryphon Exemption Advisor is delivered as embedded technology
with Call Advisor, Gryphons DNC compliance management application. During the
normal DNC database query that occurs in real time with every dial attempt, the
technology automatically overrides state and federal DNC numbers in cases where
the business has a qualifying exemption relationship with the consumer.
Company-specific, internal DNC numbers do not qualify for exemption status and
are blocked.
