Cloud computing provider ProfitBricks on Monday launched its channel referral program and also said it’s seeking VARs.

The referral program targets developers, IT consultants, systems integrators, independent software vendors and other partners who don’t want to worry about cloud computing investment, maintenance or support.

And ProfitBricks, which competes against Amazon and Rackspace, is offering financial incentives to entice such partners. For sales leads enrolled by March 31, ProfitBricks said recurring compensation goes as high as 25 percent of a customer’s net revenue. In the second quarter, ProfitBricks will pay up to 20 percent of net revenue. The higher-than-usual returns will continue for the length of the end-user contract, up to three full years.

We want a chance to prove ourselves to the channel, ISVs, telecoms, startups and other organizations with IaaS needs,” said Scott Brazina, ProfitBricks’ vice president of business development. “This kind of program demonstrates our commitment to the channel.”

ProfitBricks further said it is developing a reseller program with benefits similar to the referral setup; the company is looking to enlist VARs, and asked that interested parties contact ProfitBricks directly for details.

ProfitBricks uses InfiniBand switches in its cloud architecture, which it said delivers up to 80GBps in a private network.
