RingCentral and Vodafone Business have entered a strategic partnership to deliver new cloud-based communications services across multiple countries.

The companies will create a new co-branded, cloud-based service that will be the lead UCaaS solution for Vodafone Business. The service will also offer CCaaS to Vodafone Business customers.

Vodafone Business and RingCentral will initially introduce new services to customers in the United Kingdom and for Vodafone Business’ multinational customers in Europe in 2021. More countries will follow, including Spain, Germany and Italy, with the platform tailored to local delivery in each.

RingCentral’s Zane Long

Zane Long is RingCentral’s senior vice president of global partner sales.

“The demand for UCaaS and CCaaS solutions has never been greater,” he said. “And the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the necessity of migration from on-premises legacy communications solutions to the cloud for many customers, on top of the already growing market. RingCentral’s mission is to bring the benefits of cloud communications to organizations around the world. Partnering with a global leader like Vodafone Business enables our partners to bring the RingCentral platform to new customers around the world at an increased scale.”

Vodafone Business and RingCentral will jointly drive product roadmap, innovation, sales enablement and go-to-market. Both companies will contribute resources to this. They’ll create a joint development capability and also leverage the RingCentral open API platform for custom integrations.

Vodafone Business has a different and complementary customer base relative to our other strategic partners,” Long said. “Similarly to our other strategic partnerships, this announcement further demonstrates RingCentral’s industry leadership and expansion in the UCaaS market.”

Targeting Business Mobility Users

RingCentral for Vodafone Business is targeting business mobility users, Long said. It embeds RingCentral’s core Message, Video, Phone and open platform capabilities with Vodafone’s broader portfolios.

“This unique partnership strategy is a driving force behind RingCentral’s growth and [the] announcement with Vodafone Business is further proof of how the company is well-positioned for long-term success,” Long said. “This noteworthy announcement follows three recent unique deals with Alcatel Lucent, Avaya and Atos.”

Vodafone Business partners can offer customers a single business collaboration solution, he said. It can flex to accommodate specific needs and goals, and cater to businesses of all sizes.

“Our partnership with RingCentral will enable customers to rapidly deploy and easily manage the communications services that are right for them, and marks another step forward in our drive to become a platform-based business,” said Vinod Kumar, Vodafone Business’ CEO. “Together with RingCentral, we can transform ways of working, improve business processes, and help companies become ready for a future of increased remote and flexible working.”
