February 23, 2010
Samsung Business Communication Systems (BCS) announced Tuesday a distribution agreement with Optus Inc., a national supplier of new and refurbished voice, video and data business communications parts, solutions and services based in Jonesboro, Ark.
As part of the agreement, Optus’s national reseller base can now offer its small and medium business customers Samsung OfficeServ 7000 Series converged systems.
Through its central U.S. distribution center, Optus supports VARs with dedicated account management, pre-sales engineering and post-sales support from its team of technical experts. Optus maintains large inventory levels and guarantees delivery anywhere in the country within three business days. Optus employs 130 sales, service and administrative professionals in five states.
“Optus Inc. and Samsung BCS are a perfect fit,” says Doug Wonson, vice president and general manager, Samsung BCS. “Optus offers its customers a personal touch and expert support while Samsung provides affordable, big-business-type solutions that level the playing field for small and midsized businesses.”
Samsung’s systems allow businesses to use VoIP, SIP trunking and Wi-Fi. Mobility features such as OfficeServ Connect allow users to have office desk and mobile phones ring simultaneously and computer telephony integration (CTI) functions enhance call management, tracking and reporting.
“We are excited about the agreement with Samsung because it means our resellers can now offer their customers more affordable choices and converged, quality systems that are synonymous with the Samsung brand,” says Mark Duckworth, CEO, Optus. “In turn, our established, growing reseller base will extend the reach of Samsung’s OfficeServ solutions.”
