As more businesses aim to migrate on-premise applications into the cloud, using hybrid methods, Savvis has made its virtual Cloud Data Center service available worldwide.

The CenturyLink-owned company on Thursday said the platform, built on VMware vCloud Director 5.1 and Cisco’s Unified Data Center, lets users construct software-defined data center services for managing compute capabilities, storage, network connectivity and security operations. They also can connect public, private and hybrid clouds.

Cloud Data Center is designed for customers using VMware technologies. It comes with what Savvis called easy-to-use interfaces and tools for scaling performance to users’ needs.
