Unified communications provider ShoreTel has named Don Joos to fill the role of president and chief executive officer.
Joos has been with ShoreTel since April 2011, when he joined the company as vice president of global services. For the past year, he’s been SVP of business operations, overseeing about half of the company’s operations through the direct management of engineering/R&D, product management, global support and services, IT, quality and operations.
ShoreTel says Joos was instrumental in evolving the companys business strategy, which is focused on providing a simple unified communications platform to customers via a premise, hosted or hybrid offering. Prior to joining ShoreTel, Joos spent nine years as a company vice president at Avaya.
After an extensive search it became clear that Don is uniquely qualified to fully mobilize the company in its drive to be the leading unified communications provider,” said Chuck Kissner, chairman of the board at ShoreTel. “His achievements, knowledge of the industry, vision, respect of his peers and employees, and commitment to the companys strategy set him apart.”
ShoreTel’s UC offerings include business phone systems, applications and mobile solutions. The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company sells through channel partners.
