Cloud communications provider Smoothstone has partnered with Sprint Nextel Corp.

The companies said on Jan. 6 that Smoothstones cloud-based voice services with mobile integration now run over Sprints global MPLS network.

The product targets enterprises needing PBX functionality in their Sprint mobile phones. Theres just one number, one voice mail, and an array of group and personal call controls.

We deliver all the functionality you would expect from a cloud-based IP-PBX along with full disaster recovery and survivability features, advanced corporate governance tools including real-time call reporting and comprehensive call recording options, and optional contact center applications that meet the needs of centralized or distributed agents,” said Jon Jorgl, Smoothstones chief development officer.

Smoothstones applications and services work with a customers existing IP or legacy TDM infrastructure so companies dont have to buy more gear.

The largest enterprises see the value of converged IP communications with full mobile integration, but many do not have the resources or budgets to completely replace their existing infrastructure,” said Monnie McGaffigan, Sprints vice president of wireline, international and strategic alliances. Our combined solution enables a complex enterprise to migrate to a fully converged solution at a pace that makes sense for their business.”
