SoTel Systems is buying Wallingford, Conn.-based BSL Telephony Services, a nationwide telecom sales, service and maintenance company. BSL provides support services including authorized repair for Aastra, Avaya and Iwatsu, as well as nationwide on-site maintenance supporting nearly all telephony platforms.

SoTel, headquartered in Maryland Heights, Mo., is a supplier of business communications equipment, products and services.

"Bringing BSL into the SoTel family enhances and strengthens both businesses," said James Goebel, SoTel Systems president and CEO. "BSL adds manufacturer authorized repair services, a nationwide maintenance network with two-to-four hour response times, and a very skilled team. The combination will extend SoTel’s services offerings. Our customers will better serve their end-users across the country no matter if they simply need maintenance on a legacy system or need to install a brand new IP-PBX."

BSL’s 30,000 square-foot facility and 20 employees will be integrated with SoTel’s existing infrastructure. SoTel expects to retain the entire BSL staff while investing and expanding its new Connecticut-based workforce to provide greater customer service.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. SoTel sells through channel partners.
