New Global Telecom Inc. (NGT), a managed wholesale VoIP provider, said today it has finalized the sale of its international wholesale termination business unit to StarVox Communications Inc. StarVox is a facilities-based ASP offering wholesale and retail VoIP services.

NGT says it wants to put all its focus on its outsourced network managed services, which include the 6DegreesIP VoIP product line.

The sale of the IWT business unit is mutually beneficial as it enables us to concentrate more on our VoIP strategy and it allows StarVox to expand its network offerings, said Rich Grange, president and CEO of NGT, in a news release.

StarVox plans to aggressively expand the [international wholesale termination] business by actively developing new routes as well as expanding existing routes, added Jeffery Thomson, senior director of international services at StarVox, in a prepared statement. This will allow our carrier customers to grow their businesses. We have been adding new routes weekly since acquiring the [international wholesale termination] business.

StarVox says existing international termination carriers can use its domestic VoIP network to lower call termination costs on traffic coming into the United States, and says it also will work with in-country partners to establish international VoIP routes to lower termination costs.
