October 8, 2007
Switch and Data, a provider of Internet exchange and colocation services, secured new space to expand one of its three data centers in Dallas. The company’s now larger INFOMART location offers expanded capacity to satisfy demand in the market.
Switch and Datas footprint in the Dallas metro area reaches 65,000 square feet of space, allowing the company to offer connectivity to 120 networks.
XC Networks, which provides last-mile solutions and wireless backhaul to link major metro markets in the United States and Mexico, selected Switch and Datas new facility as a central place to interconnect with many networks and bandwidth providers and expand its Linking your World value proposition.
Cost effective access to a diverse universe of communications networks is essential to the growth of XC Networks, said Neal R. Heikkinen, executive vice president of XC Networks. Switch and Datas Dallas facility is one of the most interconnected in the market and provides a secure environment for our business-critical applications.
Switch and Data offers distributed peering between its Dallas metro area locations to maximize its customers opportunities to reach important networks, partners and customers, the company said.
