Tech Data VARs Get to Sell Ciscos CIUS Tablet

Value-added distributor Tech Data Corp. soon will offer Cisco Systems CIUS mobile collaboration tablet.

Tech Datas VAR partners will be able to sell the device starting May 31. The CIUS targets business users specifically, providing a full desktop experience no matter where the user is located. Workers can make secure voice and video calls, join or start WebEx conferences, do virtual teaming and presence, and more.

And while on site, the CIUS can be docked on Ciscos HD Media Station for wired connectivity. When a user needs to go mobile, the CIUS recognizes that the connectivity state has changed and transfers automatically to the campus wireless network. The CIUS also provisions secure remote connections.

Further, the CIUS can serve as a thin-client for resellers who want to start a cloud computing practice but want to save on equipment costs.

Its not just a tablet; its an endpoint on the Cisco network and a collaboration device for the enterprise,” said Angie Beltz-Norrie, vice president of Ciscos Solutions Group.

Tech Data will support its Advanced Unified Communications partners selling the CIUS with services including qualified lead campaigns, and Cisco sales and engineering resources.
