TelePacific Launches Integration Office
August 23, 2006
TelePacific Communications (Booth 211) announced the launch of a new structured integration process and created the Integration Program Management Office (IPMO) to manage its recent acquisition of Mpower Communications. The merger created the leading CLEC in the Western United States, and one of the largest telecommunications service providers headquartered in California, said TelePacific. The combination of these two companies businesses, affecting more than 75,000 customers in three states, will require significant resources to complete it successfully.
Led by industry veterans G. Michael Cassity, CIO, and Josephine Young, senior vice president, the IPMO is responsible for integration planning, program management, documentation and alignment of strategy, which will ensure a smooth integration of the businesses of the two companies. Effectively combining a diverse range of departments and functions that includes all aspects of running a successful business from human resources and marketing communications, to integrating networks, products catalogs and customer invoicing, to name a few, is key.
Both Cassity and Young have experience at successful integration from their stints at NuVox Communications. Cassity helped establish NuVox as a new company after a merger and was the president and COO, while Young was the chief integration officer and CIO. Young led the team responsible for the integration of NuVox and NewSouth Communications.
At TelePacific, Young has established the IPMO. In this role she is responsible for integration planning support, documentation, program management and providing the necessary tools for the integration teams. Cassity oversees the IPMO and is leading the charge to integrate the operations functions of both companies.
