Tely Labs has hired Rob Claus, Huawei Enterprise Business Group channel chief, as a top sales executive according to a new report.

Claus goes to the video-conferencing provider after two years as VP of U.S. channel sales and marketing at Huawei, the China-based equipment manufacturer, where he held the reins on implementing the company’s channel program and growing its number of partners, Computer Reseller News said. Claus told the website that the move was "too good to pass up."

Huawei is busy trying to build a bigger presence in the U.S. despite ongoing security concerns stemming from reports of the Chinese government’s influence in the company’s affairs. U.S. lawmakers have expressed concern that China could use Huawei gear to spy on America.

The company launched its channel program in 2011. Its long-term goal is go through the indirect channel exclusively in the U.S.
