Toshiba Telecom Debuts Free Version of UCEdge for Android, iOS
An advanced version enables access to full UC functionality, including recently added capabilities for the contact center environment.

Toshiba’s new Release 2.5 software adds a UCedge Essentials version that is free to IPedge® users. An Advanced version enables access to full UC functionality, including recently added capabilities for the contact center environment.

The new Toshiba UCedge Essentials brings the power of unified communications and mobility to users of Toshiba’s IPedge business communications systems as well as Strata® CIX phone systems with an IPedge Application Server.
UCedge Essentials Features
Available at no additional charge, UCedge Essentials offers a solid complement of productivity features conveniently accessible from the user’s mobile, desktop or laptop device, including:
Corporate Contacts — call using the Corporate Contact directory
History — view a log of calls dialed, received and missed
Callback/Call Through — make calls using the office phone DID number
Visual Voice/Fax Mail — view, playback and respond to voice and fax mail
Greeting and Routing Management — manage greetings and Follow Me routing
Call Alert/In-call Menu — record or transfer missed calls to another extension
In addition, Toshiba has enhanced the general usability of UCedge, incorporating more natural and simple “tap” and “double click” operations for basic calling features such as making calls, transferring calls and conferencing.
For the full suite of UCedge UC capabilities, users can select UCedge Advanced, which delivers access to a built-in Softphone that allows the client, including tablets with headsets or speakerphones, to function as an extension on the system. With UCedge, users can share presence and exchange IMs with external users, including Microsoft® Skype® for Business (Lync®) Server users or external organizations. Consolidated call and IM history information from multiple devices is stored in the cloud-based Google Drive™. UCedge Advanced also supports contact center capabilities, including the ability for agents and supervisors to log into the contact center and manage customer calls using a mobile or desktop device.
