Gabriel’s Merger with TriVergent Spawns
NuVox
By Tara Seals

NuVox Communications (www.nuvox.com) is
the official name for the broadband communications services provider formed as a
result of the merger between Gabriel Communications Inc. (www.gabrielcom.net)
and TriVergent Communications Inc. (www.trivergent.com).

Using "vox," which is "voice" in Latin, the company
explains that NuVox captures the essence of the company as a "new
voice" in the telecommunications and Internet industry as a
facilities-based integrated communications and applications services provider.

"After careful consideration, we felt it was important for our new
company to have a distinctive new name that reflected our advanced broadband
services and products," says NuVox chairman and CEO David L. Solomon.

NuVox focuses on solutions as an ICP to deliver broadband services and
customer care to businesses. Among the services are dedicated high-speed
Internet access; SL access; web and data services; local voice; and domestic and
international long distance.

It serves more than 30,000 customers throughout the Southeast and Midwest.
The company’s coverage provides a market opportunity that comprises more than 6
million business lines and nearly 20 million total lines.

Corporate headquarters are in Chesterfield, Mo., near St. Louis. NuVox
operates its Midwest Division from its headquarters office and its Southeast
Division from Greenville, SC.
