Wireless Interactive Unveils RedFire
October 10, 2005
Wireless Interactive Communications Inc. (Booth 1113), a Broadband Wireless Pavilion exhibitor, today announces the introduction of its newest 802.11g product line, RedFire.
The RedFire product line is designed for outdoor hotspot and point-to-multipoint applications, offering long-distance (up to 20 km) connections at data rates up to 54mbps, powered over Ethernet. The line is fully compliant with the IEEE802.11b/g standards, and provides features including Windows-based configuration utility software, MAC access control, wired equivalent privacy, WPA-PSK, WPA, hidden SSID and wireless isolation, and WDS application.
Wireless Interactive says additional features and benefits include 100mW to 6W of output power; asymmetrical bandwidth control via MAC; integrated sector antenna and external antenna options; IP-68 rated weatherproof housing; 802.1x; heavy-duty mounting hardware; and pricing that ranges from $550 to $800
There is an abundance of 802.11g radios on the market, says Michael Avramidis, president of Wireless Interactive. What is unique about RedFire is that it is the highest power 802.11g radio on the market today. This allows massive speeds at longer distances, connecting far more clients with less concern about available bandwidth. Unlike the RedFire, most 802.11g products do not have asymmetrical bandwidth control.
