Work Hard, Play Hard A Cliché and a Truism

As the economy falters, we continuously hear about all that is bad in our world. Companies fail, people lose their jobs, we approach the future with fear, (understandably so as the global economy takes negative hits from all sides on a daily basis), and we fail to acknowledge the positives in ourselves and the world around us.
Master agency Telecom Brokerage Inc. understands and appreciates the fact that despite today’s economic downturn, its agents and vendor partners are dedicated to providing telecommunications solutions that help their clients weather today’s economic upheaval and position them for long-term prosperity.
As a celebration of this continued dedication to partnership, TBI hosted its 7th annual Vail Ski trip for its most productive agents in partnership with three key vendors. TBI, in partnership with XO, Global Crossing and Ernest Communications, hosted representatives of CDW, TelecomMedic, Advanced Net Providers and Telecom Management Inc. for a weekend of skiing and camaraderie. The weekend was a celebration of their production and recognition of the top four TBI revenue producers of 2008.
Many things have been learned this weekend:
TBI’s Ken Mercer is an excellent chef.
TelecomMedic’s Bill Leutzinger snores louder than a bear in hibernation.
John Manning blow dries his hair (at least what remains).
The CDW team is populated with extreme skiers.
Although our world is facing incredible stress, it is possible to put all of our fears and concerns aside and have incredible amounts of fun.
Remember, we are all in control of destiny, and our crazy industry offers us the opportunity to minimize the effects of the economic downturn while positioning us as leaders out of it.
Pete Berns is business development manager for Ernest Communications, a CLEC delivering local and long-distance services nationwide.
