WorldxChange Buys ACC from AT&T

In a move that expands its presence in Europe, WorldxChange Communications
Inc. (www.worldxchange.com) announced
it has bought ACC, United Kingdom, from AT&T Corp. (www.att.com
). According to Worldx-Change, the combined company has annual revenues of
US$640 million.

The deal includes ACC’s operating companies in France, Germany and Italy, and
gives WorldxChange US$200 million revenues in Europe. ACC, which was established
in 1993 as an early entrant into the competitive market and now services the
small-to-medium-sized business market, also has three switching centers in
London, Manchester and Bristol, United Kingdom. These centers provide service
via a synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) microwave ring.
