WTG Expands Contract With 8x8

8×8 Inc. and master agency World Telecom Group (WTG) have ramped up their work together.

On Tuesday, 8×8 which sells VoIP and Unified Communications (UC) for businesses said it has upgraded its contract with Malibu, Calif.-based WTG. WTG agents and resellers now can expand their own portfolios to include 8x8s VoIP, video, contact center and managed hosting products, including the Virtual Office IP PBX and Virtual Office Pro UC platform. The former replaces traditional premises-based phone systems, while the latter combines Virtual Office phone service with unlimited Web conferencing featuring video, call recording and archiving, chat, Internet fax, presence, and mobile iOS and Android applications.

8×8 recently took its indirect sales program to new levels by hiring Don Trimble as its channel chief and putting fresh emphasis on partnerships with agents and resellers. The company also has been touting its cloud capabilities, particularly for companies with 25 employees or fewer.
