XO Communications on Wednesday unveiled a new pricing structure for its IP services.

The announcement came as XO introduced XO IPfolio, or new services for businesses and enterprises.

XO IPfolio includes XO IP Flex, XO SIP, XO One iPBX, XO MPLS IP-VPN, and XO IP Flex with VPN. The new pricing applies to XO IP Flex, XO IP Flex with VPN and XO SIP. Rates are based on the size of the port, not on the number of voice lines. XO said customers just have to choose an IP port speed from 1.5mpbs to 45mbps, a calling plan and any additional features.

Bandwidth-based pricing is about more than cost, its about creating a model that makes business sense in an IP world, said Tom Cady, president of XO Business Services.

XO also launched XO IP Flex, which upgrades and replaces XOptions Flex, XOs VoIP services bundle. XO IP Flex is designed for larger business customers because it offers bandwidth including 4.5mbps and 10mbps. XO IP Flex works with existing phone systems and comes with several standard features.

XO said it will add new services and make enhancements to the XO IPfolio throughout 2008.
