Nashville-based Equinox Information Systems (Booth 217) announced that XO Communications Inc. (Booth 505) has upgraded its telecom fraud management software to Protector 10. Equinoxs Protector 10 provides real-time fraud protection to carriers by identifying instances in which a customers actual usage varies from expected usage in a manner that suggests fraudulent activity.

XO has used Protector since 1996. This upgrade, however, gives the company access to advance profiling, investigation, case management and reporting functions to better manage fraud across its network of more than 30 Nortel DMS-500 switches.

We have deployed previous versions of Protector software across our network successfully in the past to limit our exposure to telecom fraud, says Adam Gibbons, XOs fraud manager. We anticipate that Protector 10 will allow us to do an even better job protecting XO customers and shareholders from the effects of telecom fraud.

The decision by XO to upgrade to Protector 10 demonstrates the value of having the latest technology to fight telecom fraud, says David West, executive vice president of Equinox. Equinox intends to continue to innovate to provide telecom providers, like XO Communications, with the best possible telecom fraud defense software.
