Apple iPad Launch Truly 'Buzz'worthy on Twitter

So just how much buzz surrounded the new Apple iPad during Wednesdays launch event? One company says it can quantify the buzzworthiness of the new product.

Electronics marketplace Retrevo says its Buzzmeter measured Tweets during the event, saying they peaked at 7,000 per minute. Compare that with typical hot topics Britney Spears averages 10-20 Tweets per minute all the time and you have a pretty big number.

Just how does it work? In this case, the Buzzmeter monitored Twitter keyword activity, picking up on terms like Apple Tablet, iPad and the like.

This is the first demonstration of the Buzzmeter, which Retrevo promises to put to use during future buzzworthy events.
