Here is a convincing story for those companies contemplating the idea of implementing a Managed Print Services (MPS) strategy. Berklee College of Music, possibly the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world, used to have several “different print manufacturers represented on campus.” Unfortunately at the time, no two machines were the same model, and this caused a complication each time a machine needed to be repaired. As a result, vendor bills accrued monthly for the college, and print operators became frustrated.

Instead of continuing down the same burdening path, Berklee decided it was time to search for alternative solutions. After a long search for available options, the college settled on Xerox‘s Manged Print Services strategy. As a result of implementing MPS, Berklee saved over “$300,000 in annual costs and increased overall efficiency for students with faster print speeds.” The college also reduced its printer/copier footprint by a whopping two-thirds.

Instead of wasting time, money, and energy on document management and printing processes, Berklee wanted to devote its focus to the college’s priorities, which is why it implemented a Managed Print Services strategy that worked.

Are managed print services finally picking up momentum? Here’s a look at what may be going on with this category.
